PAR-MAX System Overview:
The core of the PAR-MAX Algae production system includes several distinct components working together:
1. Genetically engineered micro-algal species
2. Micro-nutrient and CO2 injector system
3. A scalable closed-loop bioreactor
4. Accelerated Artificial Photosynthesis
The system allows for a complete production cycle from inoculation to nutrient absorption to growth to extraction at a single site in the most compact and cost-effective form possible. Some of the unique aspects of PAR-MAX are:

By introducing nutrients in micronized bio-available form, providing an optimized light source on a 24-hour basis and producing electricity from solar, wind, waste, and algal biomass sources of energy, a self-sustaining growth environment is created.
Most Algal production systems are limited by solar availability and are dependent on large volumes of electricity, outside nutrients and gases. PAR-MAX production is completely closed-loop. Outside inputs are severely limited by managing every aspect of the plant through re-use, recovery or utilization of raw material inputs whether solid, liquid or gaseous.
Most plant bio-fuel production plant designs are optimized for individual productivity improvements in a single step of the process. PAR-MAX optimizes the entire process through proven intensification methodologies in order to achieve maximum productivity of Algal output. The end result is the most cost effective balance of best practices and innovation in the industry.
Micro-algae are the oldest and most basic complex single cell organisms on the planet. Their variety is almost limitless with only a small percentage of a projected hundreds of thousands of unique organisms that exist in nature having been isolated and cultivated to date. For this reason, micro-algae in both salt and freshwater, have been called the “new tropical rainforest”; a vast resource for biotechnology discovery. Algae are photosynthetic organisms that occur in most habitats. They vary from small, singlecelled forms to complex multicellular forms, such as the giant kelps that grow to more than 65 meters in length. The US Algal Collection is represented by almost 300,000 accessioned and inventoried herbarium specimens. In comparison, only a very few have been thoroughly researched to date, in fact new species are continually being discovered.
Algae are of significant environmental and commercial importance. The environmental impact of wild algal blooms can have significant negative economic consequences, however these are outweighed by the positive roles of algae. Algae are not only sources of food for humans and animals, but are also the sources of a wide range of chemical compounds such as the phycocolloids used in industry, food technology and as high-purity pharmaceuticals. In the last few decades the emphasis has moved from ‘wild' harvests to the farming and controlled cultivation and to the production of valuable new products.
Since algae grows through the conversion of CO2 and other nutrients into biomass, many doubling their mass in about 48 hours; (In an Outdoor Solar-powered culture system).
The PAR-MAX Reactor controls the light-value relayed to the total biomass on a continual 24 hour basis, thereby increasing the Photosynthetic-Efficiency affecting doubling time, resulting in significantly higher Production rates than have been acheived in Outdoor culture systems powered only by the Sun
